Product Info

The Cluebox is an interactive, manually assembled wooden box with various puzzles which have to be solved one after the other in order to open the box. Very much like an Escape Room in a handy format! The solution to each and every puzzle is based not on randomness, but only on logical decisions.  It is a unique and intriguing challenge. It's difficult to solve, satisfying to hold, and beautiful to display.  Trial of Camelot is the fourth in the series of challenging puzzle boxes!

The Story:The aging King Arthur asks for the help of his mentor, mage Merlin, to find a worthy knight who can take part in the quest for the Holy Grail. Later on Merlin finds a way to identify the worthy - the one who can pass the trail and "pull out the king's sword."

Many knights gifted with strength and valor came to Merlin, but none of them could cope with the trial. Until Galahad, son of Lancelot, came along. A short time later King Arthur proclaims him the greatest knight ever.

Many deeds of Galahad are described in detail in medieval literature, except for one - the trial of Merlin, which remained a secret of Galahad. Until quite recently, in West Yorkshire, a mound with the tomb of an unknown knight was excavated. All indications pointed that it was the tomb of the knight Galahad, and in his hands there was the trial of Merlin, which accompanied Galahad until the end of his days.

Now we suggest that you pass the Trial of Camelot and equal yourself with the greatest of the Knights of the Round Table!

The cluebox is resettable and is precisely cut from high quality birch wood using the finest laser technology.

This was my first puzzle of this type, the escape room in a box. I did not feel the need to force any move, nor was any move not understandable once done. The quality of my copy was high, and I was able to reconfigure the box into its original state. Was given this as a gift, and I will highly suggest to my loved ones that give me gifts to consider similar puzzle boxes in the future. This is now one of my favorite puzzles.

I've only done 2 of the puzzles in this box so far, but I already had to use what I consider excessive force once. I was 100% sure a piece was supposed to come out but I literally could *not* get it out. When I set my mind to forcing it no matter what, voila it came out as if that was supposed to be easy. I've also solved one other puzzle mentally in my head but I can't move the pieces (not sure if they're blocked or I will have to use force here too). Had other problems using too much force when setting pins so far. Based on the other reviews here I'm pretty sure I'm stuck because the puzzle is physically not solveable. Which is really sad because I can tell the puzzles are super clever, the box is just constructed so badly.

This was great! This is the first puzzle box I have solved and I really liked it. Just a disclaimer though, they changed the puzzle box a bit and have not updated the pictures, although it is not significant. Over all, Great product, I will buy another box soon\ MVP

This is my first of these puzzle boxes, so I can’t compare to any of the older ones (some say the build quality isn’t as good as it once was), but I have really enjoyed it. I haven’t finished it yet, but so far, all of its pieces seem to be the proper size and fit, but I can see how just a few mm could really cause problems with this type of design. Since it’s made of wood, things can and will warp, and since the pieces are small and thin, it could make you think that something you’re doing right is actually wrong, which is why I think I’m at a bit of a standstill with it. Regardless, I am still really happy with it, it’s a serious challenge and a good price, relative to how much entertainment it provides!

One of the key pieces of the puzzle was made slightly too big to be removed. It was very clear it was intended to be removed but required enough force to break a part of it off. Other than that the puzzle was good but the build quality of this puzzle was a step down from previous idventure puzzles.

Meh. It was super finicky and some of the pieces got stuck so it’s hard to tell if it was a real move or you weee just forcing something. Not super satisfying.

My wife bought me this box for valentine's day and knocked it out of the park. This is a very creative and fun puzzle. I've solved this puzzle and Schrodinger's cat from IDventure and I will absolutely continue buying these clueboxes. It took me a little longer than usual for this one as I had to use a clue to see if a certain piece was supposed to detach from the box. But I wouldn't let that keep you from buying this puzzle. Very fun and I would definitely recommend this one to any puzzle enthusiast!

The final puzzle wasn’t set, so it fell apart after the first step. Many of the subsequent steps either required force, or just didn’t work. Repeated references to the clues was necessary just to check if keys or lids were supposed to come out.

IDventure dropped the ball on the quality if this puzzle. This is my 4th box and didn't run into the same issues. The solve was clever I'll give them that but I had to check the hints to confirm solutions as they required forcing. My final step was not set and fell out the puzzle after step 1. Step 2 was stuck despite being in position. Step 4 required foce and one of the sliders was physically blocked. I thought it was a missed step by me but no I had to force it and rework it was sanding and wax after solve. It works fine after adjusting but that's not great for my solve. IDventure failed to respond to complaint also.

Having solved the Nautilus puzzle and enjoying that one immensely, this one was just as good. Every solve lead to another area and puzzles were well thought out. Great puzzle for any puzzle person

This is my 5th Cluebox and definitely my favorite so far! So many challenging, fun puzzles contained within the solving of this box. And, just when you think you're almost finished, something else shows up! I am pleased to say I was able to complete it without looking at any hints. I like this on a little better than the Labyrinth Cluebox, mainly because I had to "cheat" to figure that one out...It is very cool, though, too!

I've completed 3 of iDVenture's puzzles now, and while I had fun, this one was the my least favourite. Without spoiling, some pieces didn't "unlock" like they were supposed to, and I was forced to look up the answer because of the confusion. Still, it was quite enjoyable and I can't wait for the next one!
