By designer Wil Strijbos:
"A company in Switzerland wanted to use my First Cross puzzle as a very special present to some of their customers at the start of 2016. Instead of using my original design from 1979, they asked me to come up with an easier version because they wanted their customers to enjoy it, you understand. So with this challenge in my mind I went to Moscow where I found the inspiration for a new Cross Puzzle. I spent a week with my girlfriend "Sveta" before heading to China to explain the new creation to my product manager and arrange for a prototype, changed a few small details and then organized the production. This Cross is named the Sweta Cross because the order came from Switzerland and I finished the creation at Sveta's place in Moscow. (The "Swiss Flag" is the design that I produced for the Swiss company. It is an easier version than the edition that I made especially for puzzle collectors.)"
The goal is to take apart and reassemble the parts of the cross. Not to be confused with the Aluminum Cross that is also designed by Wil Strijbos (and looks very similar) - the internal workings of the Sweta Cross are very different. This puzzle has four transparent "windows" which allow you to see very small ball bearings that are a part of its inner mechanism. Made to be a challenge for the more seasoned puzzler, this lovely puzzle also comes engraved with Wil's signature as well as the name of the puzzle. A wooden display stand (plate) is also included.
