Get blown away by the Cast Cyclone, a mind bending 3D cast metal puzzle from Hanayama Huzzle. This intricately designed puzzle requires skill and strategy to separate the interconnected pieces and then reassemble. With its unique design and challenging solution, the Cast Cyclone is a must have for any puzzle enthusiast.
The Cast Cyclone from designer Kyoo Wong is a puzzle in which each of the four individual pieces interlock with the other three. While all the pieces initially look the same, there are in fact two different kinds of pieces. The design of each ring has been carefully calculated, highly restricting the amount of possible movement and creating an extremely complex puzzle. The objective is to separate all four pieces and then reassemble the pieces together.

This one should be a ten level difficulty. Precise positioning is required, or one has no chance at all in solving this one. I actually bought a second copy to act as a reference. Cyclone has become one of my favorites, along side of Enigma, Equa, Vortex, Hourglass, Quatro, etc. All these top level difficulty puzzles require exacting sequence and positioning. No "one hit wonders" in solution for any of these fine puzzles.

In my opinion the solution requires far too much force to accomplish. The online solution videos use the pre-production version of the puzzle which has uncoated dull metal pieces. I have the version with coated shiny gold and silver pieces. So perhaps something happened during the coating process to alter the close tolerances.
Therefore, a frustrating puzzle. Hanayama puzzles are typically beautifully engineered so you're never required to exert much force - this one is the exception.
