Product Info

This box opens in 54 steps to open it and has an extra compartment in the lid that holds a small coin-sized token. The design is Traditional Yosegi.

** Japanese Wood Mosaic works are manufactured in Odawara,Hakone JAPAN. Natural colored wood materials are assembled together into a board with a beautiful mosaic pattern, and sheets of this board are pasted onto boxes for decoration.  There are approximately 60 different mosaic patterns. Japanese wood mosaic is called "Yosegi" (Koyosegi).

Because of the hand-made nature of the box, the picture or pattern may have slight variations. 

The "sun" in the name is a Japanese form of measurement.  Each "sun" is approximately 3 centimetres in box length. 
Solution in included.  Comes in a pressboard gift box.

Beautiful bit of craftsmanship AND it's tricky to solve. DO NOT FORCE!!! If this is the same as the one I bought 20 years ago, no force necessary. Gently, gently; eh? Save the solution in case you put it away for a few years. ALSO: Be careful to replace the top in the correct orientation, if you don't and work the puzzle (even gently) you'll have a really hard time getting it off again.
