Rollercoaster: A Challenging 3D Wooden Interlocking Puzzle
Experience the thrill of Rollercoaster, a unique wooden puzzle that combines several puzzle genres into one design. Designed by Laszlo Molnar and made by Mr. Puzzle, Rollercoaster was presented by Jerry Slocum at the Edward Hordern IPP38 Puzzle Exchange – San Diego, USA in August 2018. This limited-edition puzzle (389 made) is a must-have for enthusiasts of wooden puzzles.

There is only three piece to fit in the box and yet the Rollercoaster is an interlocking puzzle, a dexterity puzzle and a packing puzzle all rolled into one. And it’s hard!

The designer's innovative approach combines multiple puzzle types in one, requiring the solver to both assemble the pieces and demonstrate dexterity by carefully maneuvering the box and components without touching the internal pieces, all while maintaining the correct orientation.

Laszlo called the puzzle Rollercoaster after the action of rolling the pieces around inside the cube to get to the solution.  He says “I like amusement park analogy, and here the movement of all pieces reminded me of the rollercoaster.” 

Seasoned puzzlers have been delightfully stumped, taking longer than expected to crack it, and have enthusiastically praised the puzzle's ingenuity and entertainment value.

Made from Papua New Guinean ebony hardwood, the wooden pieces feature a unique salmon pink color with dark brown to black streaks. The clear acrylic box has a corner cut out, allowing for insertion of the wooden pieces.
