Product Info

The Gear Orbit Cube is a unique puzzle that combines 2D and 3D rotational geometry.  It is a 3x3x3 with four small circles on each face, that rotate in the same direction that you turn a face.  (For example, turning the R face 90 degrees clockwise will result in the small circles on the R face spinning 90 degrees relative to that face.)

Believe that it will be incredible difficult to most people. Get one and accept your challenge!

The little circles on each faces are part of a planetary gear system centered around a stationary sun gear hidden inside the center pieces.
The center serves both an aesthetic and functional purpose. Removed the center cap, it shows the hidden gear mechanism. And, it allow to tension and loosen the puzzle when inevitable gear misalignments happen.

Not like traditional 3x3x3 cube, you will need to find the solution yourself.
This is really challenging, and a lot of fun!

Do you like doing a bunch of set-up moves to perform a 3-cycle, then forgetting what your set-up moves were, and having to restart the puzzle completely? Then look no further than this puzzle! In all seriousness though, this is a really unique and cool puzzle with a solve like no other. This puzzle gets excruciatingly challenging the closer you get to its solved state, but that's what I like about it. Where it loses marks is its instability. It's very easy to turn a face and cause an unintended lock on one of the circles which prevents any further turns that intersect that circle. The only way I have been able to fix this is by physically removing the circle pieces from the puzzle and putting them back in. Anyone that has tried solving this puzzle probably knows exactly what I am talking about. Very cool puzzle, I just wish it didn't have the aforementioned problem.
