A shockingly challenging puzzle. 17 logs must be inserted to achieve the goal of a level timberline. In addition to the unknown location of the logs, there are 3 variables in play: the length of the logs, the starting height of each trunk, and the finish height (which is unknown at the start). This is easy to attempt, but tough to complete. It can be rather addicting however, as you often seem to get close and the puzzle pulls you in.....
The logs are about 3/8" diameter and nicely finished. Comes with a wooden cover that if great for storage.
Note, photo shows the puzzle unsolved, as it comes packaged. A written solution is provided.

It's a nice looking set, and has a cover to keep the bits together (but you'll want to use a rubber band to hold the cover on). The challenging aspect as you can see from the images is that the length of the "tunnels" into which the sticks must sit vary, and that the objective, to make the tops level, is not defined: how level is level? where is the top level? I actually haven't yet solved it but I was thinking of giving it to my brother who likes being in the forest even more than I do. Don't lose any of the logs--this is the real challenge--they're light and tiny.
