Product Info

The goal of the Streichholzbox (Matchbox) looks simple enough - open the box to put something inside and then lock it again.  After taking a good look at it, you might start doubting that it is possible, but be sure that it is. The trick involved to solve this puzzle is clever, it requires some serious thinking outside the box.

Approximate dimensions: 14.5 cm x 4 cm x 5.4 cm / 5.7 in x 1.6 in x 2.1 in

Made in wood by Jean-Claude Constantin. Jean-Claude Constantin lives in Germany, where he designs and manufactures many different wood and metal puzzles, as well as magic tricks and other intellectual toys and games.

Very easy puzzle. Definitly not for daily puzzlers like me. Took me 2-3 minutes to solve. So pretty expensive for the time spent. But nice looking puzzle.

I purchased this as a gift for my friends birthday and so I didn’t get a good opportunity to really get a feel for the quality of the item or how to figure it out on my own but I did watch a video on it and I’d consider it moderate in difficulty, a great sort of sequential discovery type puzzle which I was actively looking for so that was really a nice quality! When holding the box in my hands still wrapped in plastic to me it felt pretty sturdy, nice and lightweight too. All the parts looked great and I was very happy with how it all looked. I think the only complaint I had was that it was a bit smaller than I was expecting. I guess I didn’t see the size measurements before buying, I was really hoping to get a box fit for holding a little bit more stuff than it was able...but it’s alright! My friend was super happy with the gift and knew right away what it was and was thrilled to have one of these and I’ve yet to hear any complaints on quality or make so I’m assuming he’s quite happy with it! All in all I was quite happy with this purchase and would definitely suggest this puzzle to others in the future.

if the quality was better i would recommend this puzzle but mine came already damaged and even after looking up how to open it to ensure i was doing it the right way it wont open. it seems like the tolerances are off. also like the others said this is most definitely not a level 8. 5 or 6 tops

I thought it was a very simple puzzle for a level 8. It was my first puzzle but it took me about 2 1/2 minutes. I had a few of my friends try it and they could not figure it out (it was their first puzzle too). It was worth the buy for a first puzzle!

I like the unique concept to open the box, but the build quality was quite disappointing - it broke the second time that we opened it.

Good things first: great quality and great packing. Its a very nice piece of work. BUT this is one of my first items i bought from here, and to be honest.. I found it way to easy. SOLLUTION ALEART: it requires only 6 moves to be open. Kinda dissapointed that there wasnt any more challenge to it than that.. Would not say this is a lvl 8 difficulty, but maby thats just me .. But to wrap it up, great item, was fun, but falls short due to puzzle being way to simple.
